Enamel Paint for Toughness and Resistance

Enamel paint generally turns hard after it is dried. It has glossy finish. In veracity, many enamel paints that are available commercially are significantly softer than the stoved synthetic resins or the vitreous enamel paints.

Some of the enamel paints are prepared by adding varnish to the oil based paints. In 1930’s, these enamel paints were termed as oil modified polyesters. The oil was mainly mixed to have adequate flexibility for the paint film and also to curtail or enhance the cross linking of the paint.

The term enamel paint was mainly used to depict the oil-based covering products with more gloss in it. But nowadays this term is being used by even the latex or water based paints. This term is now understood as hard surfaced paint and has got the reference for the paint brands that come under the purview of higher quality and high gloss finish.

There are various uses of enamel paints. Guitar can be used as a DIY solution for the scuffy and dead guitar. Floor enamel can be used for basements, porches, patios, stairs and concrete. Fast dry enamel will get dried within 10-15 minutes. It is good for refrigerators, industrial finishes and for the counters. The High-temp enamel can be used for brakes, exhaust, BBQ’s and engines. Enamel is used in the wood to make it challenging to the elements through the root proofing and water proofing properties of the enamel. The treated places live longer and have more resisting capacity than the surfaces that are untreated. Last, but not the least, the nail enamel is used to polish the nails.

What is the reason for anybody to choose enamel paint? It is so because of its toughness and resistance to handling and also knocks. Even though it is solvent-based, when compared to cellulose paint, the vapours are far less malicious. It is generally colour fast. When applied in the sub-optimal settings, it is more magnanimous. It is also very much ideal for the scenic work.

Thus a good sculpture can be cleaned out by a poor paint work and a bad sculpture can be enhanced with the good paint work. Painting is the final stage for any work that gives a life to the model or a sculpture.
